H and D had taken 1/2 of Thursday and all of Friday off (7-11,12-13) . We were going to go to Utah to see my sister K, but we all decided that she should go to Arizona. So Justin and I decided to go camping, and it was a lot of fun! We didn’t go to the place where we normally go (which I was GLAD!!!). Instead we went up higher on the mountain so it would be a lot cooler.
Tuesday night we went to Cody to get things that we needed. Last year when we went camping our (awesome, big, high) air mattress was left in the sun in the tent and started to get lopsided so we decided that we probably shouldn’t use it anymore (I was sad because I loved that one, it was so comfy!!) so we bought an air mattress. We had to get new sleeping bags also because a cute little guy had an accent in ours (which is fine, it happens :D). We also decided to get a small (but not too small) canopy for shade. It’s crazy because we never need 2 carts and that time we did. The next morning I took J to work because I needed to babysit for a few hours :D. After I got home from work I washed and folded laundry, packed up some of the suitcases, and made sure we had everything on the list. At noon on Thursday D came inside while the girls were eating and we talked for a little bit. Then J and I left go get some food while we were getting things that we needed. We went home and packed his parents trailblazer (our tires are bald and he didn’t trust them), grabbed the dog, and went on our way. We got to the campground, found a place and J went go to pay and not more than 5 minutes later someone came into the campground wanting to know if we were gonna camp there. I’m glad we got there when we did!! We had so much fun, I love being able to go camping. We set up the tent and canopy, ate dinner, and got ready for bed.
I woke up from tossing and turning and just listened to the rain. It rained all night long and into the morning. That morning we decided to make a trip back down to get a few things that we missed. We were only going to go to Dirty Annie’s, but we decided to come home to get a chair for Tempe and just get the stuff at home. When we got back up it was super nice to get away from the heat back home. The weekend went by way too fast. I told J that I want to come back up one more time this summer before it gets too cold, but this time also invite his parents.
So…during weekend we had a furry friend that would come into our camp and hang out. One day we were sitting under the canopy, and our friend came over and started sniffing around. We had our tubs and ice chest under a tree in the shade because the car was too hot. It climbed onto the tub and realized there was no food on there so it climbed on the ice chest. It walked around for a bit and looked at us like “excuse me, why aren’t you leaving any food where I can get it?” It started yelling and talking, then ran up the tree came back down and onto the picnic table. I realized I left Tempe’s bag open so J got up and shooed the squirrel away. It climbed up the tree that was right there and started yelling at him. It was so funny!! Here is pictures of our campground.
This one and the next one are from the morning we were getting ready to pack up and leave. Here is all the pictures we took…..Sorry I got crazy with thinking of cool things to take pictures of!!
Forget Me Nots!! =D
Camping runs deep in my blood!! Growing up we would camp every single year with family and friends. I remember sleeping in tents, then trailers, and later a family friend had a cabin that we stayed in. I’m not big on spiders at all, and upstairs in the cabin were dead/live spiders *shivers*. I remember one year a daddy-long-legs was crawling on me, and I kept stomping and trying to get it off. Its funny now, but still hate spiders. I don’t like them anywhere on or around me. I can’t remember a year that we didn’t go. Sometimes we’d stay 2 weeks, and others we’d only stay 1. Those are some of the best memories I have, and I want to share those with our kids.
